Morphe Backup Settings and Keystore

Back up settings, patch selections and the keystore before you need them. A backup turns a lost phone or a bad update into a ten minute rebuild.

What to Back Up

Three things matter. Settings hold your patcher preferences. Patch selections hold the exact patches you chose per target app, so a rebuild does not mean re-reading the whole patch list. The keystore holds the signing key that makes updates install over old patched copies, and without it, no update installs cleanly. This page is part of the Morphe APK download patching collection.

Back all three up the first time you patch, not after the first failure. A backup made after a failure is a backup of the failure, and it saves nothing.

How to Back Up

Export settings and patch selections from inside the patcher, and store the export files somewhere that survives a phone reset, such as a computer or a cloud folder you control. Export the keystore the same way, and store it separately from the phone, because a keystore that lives only on the phone dies with the phone.

Label each export with the target app and the patch set it belongs to. A folder of exports named export one, export two and export three helps nobody when a rebuild is needed at midnight.

For the next step, see Morphe Split APK Patching in the guides, which continues this setup from where this page leaves off.

Restoring

Restoring is the reverse: import settings, import patch selections, import the keystore, then patch the target app files again. The rebuilt patched copies install over the old ones because the keystore matches, and the patch selections mean the rebuild matches the setup you had.

Test one patched copy after a restore before rebuilding everything. If the first restore works, the rest will follow, and the whole rebuild takes minutes instead of an evening.

Conclusion

Back up settings, selections and keystore on day one, store them off the phone, and label them. A backup is the difference between a ten minute rebuild and an evening of re-reading patch lists.
