What MicroG RE Does
Patched apps cannot use the standard Google sign in on their own, because a patched copy is not the app Google signed. MicroG RE fills that gap. It is a companion app that provides the sign in service patched apps expect, so a patched video or music app can sign in and keep subscriptions, history and playlists working. This page is part of the Morphe app patching collection.
Think of it as a translator at the sign in desk. The patched app asks for sign in the usual way, MicroG RE answers in the way the patched app understands, and the account works inside the patched copy exactly as it would in the stock app.
Installing MicroG RE
Install MicroG RE before signing in anywhere. When a patched app first needs sign in, it will prompt for MicroG RE itself, and following that prompt is the simplest route. Grant the permissions it asks for, because a sign in service that cannot run in the background cannot keep a session alive.
Once installed, do not sign in from the system account screen. Open the patched app, go to its own sign in flow, and sign in there. The patched app talks to MicroG RE during that flow, and the account lands inside the patched copy, not inside the stock app.
For the next step, see How to Patch YouTube With Morphe in the guides, which continues this setup from where this page leaves off.
Sign In Problems
If sign in fails, check MicroG RE first. An outdated companion, a battery optimisation rule that kills it, or a missing permission all break sign in the same way: the patched app asks, nobody answers, and the sign in screen loops. Update MicroG RE, exempt it from battery optimisation, and try the patched app sign in flow again.
If sign in still fails, remove the account inside the patched app, clear the patched app cache, and sign in once more from inside the patched app. Signing in from the wrong place is the most common cause, and it is fixed by signing in from the right one.

Conclusion
Install MicroG RE once, sign in inside the patched app, and leave the companion alone after that. Sign in problems almost always trace back to a missing companion, a killed background service, or a sign in attempted from the wrong screen.
